Benington salutes the Queen.
Benington pays tribute to the Queens Diamond Jubilee, with a Funday to remember. With BBQs, Hog Roast and lovely Salads, and the very popular cup cakes, and teas being served.
The Benington mile was ran or walked by people young and old, this was won by Mr M Woods, And the first lady was Miss E Bott. A dog show was held where the talents of the dogs was shown.
The best looking King and Queen competion, was won by Hayden Warren as King, and Kayla Hacker as Queen.
The inflatables were very popular, adults and children showing there strength at Sumo Wrestling and Jolsting, Also a slide for the toddlers,there was free ice cream and sweets for the children, and an all day Disco, for those who wanted to dance.
The Beacon was lit at 10.26pm. by Richard Bott, which led to the fireworks, to round the evening off. The crowd sang God Save The Queen, followed by a resounding three cheers for the Queen, and a cheer for luck, which echoed around the Recreation Ground.
There are a lot of thank you s to be said, to the local businessess for their Donations, to the local people for their generosity, and time, which all contributed to, making the entire day a success.
There are to many of you to mention individualy, but you all should be proud of yourselves.
