To celebrate the Queen’s 60 year reign 2012 Diamond Jubilee beacons will be lit as part of the Diamond Jubilee Bank Holiday celebrations.

On the public holiday of Monday 4 June 2012 thousands of beacons will be lit around the UK and throughout the Commonwealth to commemorate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee over the UK and as Head of the Commonwealth.
The Beacon in the Recreation Ground is one of these 2012 beacons accross the country to be lit. As with the celebrations ten years ago the recreation ground will host some of the celebrations in the village on this date.

The exact Details are still to be announced, but you can be assured that it will be a fun time and chances are the “Benington Mile” will be run and some other fun competions/events will be held. Also some fireworks and maybe a bonfire. Watch this space for all the details
